Firstly, we want to warmly welcome you to XMOM.NET, fellow motherhood learner!
Our official launch for the web site was November 20, 2025.
We’re so happy to finally be public-facing with this project, after months of development, getting everything straight behind the scenes. There are still a few wrinkles to iron out, but we’re getting there!
XMOM.NET is dedicated to providing a place where pregnant and postnatal women can go to find evidence-based articles, with no agenda but to help women learn about important topics. We’re all digital, so you can visit while sitting in your chair in your own space.
XMOM.NET is also dedicated to providing a (digital-only!) place where pregnant and postnatal women can go to share personal stories about pregnancy and the postnatal period without judgement, but rather with kindness and compassion, on the part of the community.
We aim to have articles that are instructive and important; that is to say, we want to cover crucial and relevant topics, topics that most of us could probably learn a bit more about, or at the very least, review the material if it’s already known.
We also want to hear from women and learn what they’ve experienced. Firsthand accounts are amazing.
We are a bunch of Medical Professionals and Moms in various disciplines relating to maternity wishing to remain anonymous.
This web site, XMom.net, was the idea of one of our group members.
They saw a need for a place like this.
While places like Reddit and Facebook have many great groups, a good number of women we know are turning away from the giant social media companies in favor of smaller, niche communities on simple, smaller web sites.
At one time there were hundreds of thousands of smaller web sites with tiny communities and great articles written by authors who enjoyed sharing on smaller platforms.
Our goal is to provide a place where the info is free and accurate, and the comments and forums are lively and fun.
This web site only offers information and does not sell anything. Nothing written should be construed as medical advice, of course. The idea it to learn more about pregnancy, breastfeeding, and the many topics that go along with postpartum life.
The name XMom means a lot. The “X” represents a few things at once, if truth be told. Some are more silly and some are more serious.
XMOM Superhero
– Being an XMom is like being one of the X-Men. How? Having a baby requires transforming into a super hero.
– X is the coolest letter in the alphabet, and that’s not just my opinion. Look it up.
-Brands with X are everywhere? Why? Why not!
– X means the future. And, in the future we’re building, we want new Moms to be super-informed, before the baby arrives.
– X represents the unknown variable. The X in XMOM represents the fact that every women experiences a different pregnancy, birth experience, and postnatal time every time they have a baby.
-X Represents Mystery and Anonymity. Think back to Speed Racer, Gen-X Moms, and think of Racer X. Our articles are usually written under a person’s Username, preserving their anonymity.
What does the X NOT represent?
-Generation-X Moms? No; but you’re not being excluded, either!
Gen-X Moms are welcome as community members here, as well as authors. But, really, we did not choose this name to honor your chronological sub-set of Moms.
-Some kind of creepy p*rn. No; if that’s what you’re seeking you’re going to be deeply disappointed.
Maybe stick around, anyway? Read a few articles about pregnancy and postpartum life based in science, and check out the perinatal accounts from women’s point of view, and maybe leave with a bit more respect for women and their lives? We can hope.
Our domain is adjacent to…*ahem*…many…unsavory websites…to say the least…it seems. We only learned this afterwards. If anything, it’s as though we are capturing back a bit of ground for women, claiming definitively our stark 4-letter domain, a short, easy-to-remember name that might have been used to exploit women, had someone else purchased the digital property.
What else is there to say? Well, we also want women to know there are many services out there that can help with pregnancy.
There are also existing communities that are vital and wonderful. We want our readers to know what’s out there, and know what the research and facts are.
Welcome aboard! Please make a user account and “like” us on social media. (We don’t have this yet, so just spread the word about this web site, instead.)
We hope to not only hear from you in the comments section, and later, the forums we will have built. So, sit down for a while and enjoy the web site we are building.
