XMOM.Net: About Our Pre-Print Repository
Welcome to the XMOM.Net! This portal serves to place women’s and maternal research, articles, and discussion into the wider world of diverse audiences. We’re so happy you’ve stumbled upon our maternity and womanhood platform.
Xmom is operated by the Health Sciences Research Education Center. Our parent group also operates a pre-print server, a dedicated open-access platform built exclusively for rapid scholarly communication in pregnancy, postnatal care, breastfeeding, lactation, and the interconnected domains of women’s health, mental well-being, and societal impact.
Health Sciences Research Education Center Preprint Server [HSRxiv]
Institutional pre-print repository with automated persistence and credit-based author submissions.
To keep the server running fast, the Center only accept research in .PDF format.

About XMOM.Net
For additional background on our institutional mission, governance, and long-standing digital infrastructure, please refer to our main About Us page on XMOM.Net.
This platform is also home to articles intended for the perinatal population as well as medical professionals, and we warmly welcome first-hand personal accounts directly from perinatal individuals.
We very much want new parents and families interacting with the latest research and sharing their lived experiences—making the direct connection between real-world journeys and ongoing scientific inquiry a core goal of our community on Xmom.net. Yes; this is a unique juxtaposition, but it servers researchers, parents, and the larger community, quite well.
Our Institutional Legacy and Stability
Pre-print publishing is a serious scientific commitment that demands unwavering data integrity, cryptographic security, and long-term archival permanence.
- Infrastructure Longevity: [HSRxiv] is not a temporary or experimental repository. Our parent operator’s server architecture has been continuously operating, actively maintained, and hardened over the past two decades. When we have been attacked, we have learned and adapted.
- Uncompromised Reliability: We own and manage our own data, employing end-to-end Virtual Private Server (VPS) encryption, proxy chaining, and automated remote backups to guarantee that scholarly records remain permanently secure, verifiable, and accessible.
- Permanent Archival via Wayback Machine: In addition to our native robust backup architecture, we actively and manually submit every published pre-print and record to the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine to ensure maximum redundancy, independent verifiability, and permanent public preservation.
Scope and Subject Matter
[HSRxiv] serves as an un-peer-reviewed repository for early-stage manuscripts, preliminary findings, clinical observations, and sociological studies. We invite submissions from academic researchers, medical professionals, clinicians, and public health specialists working across the following core disciplines:
- Obstetrics & Prenatal Development: Maternal physiology, fetal monitoring, clinical trials, and epidemiological tracking of pregnancy outcomes.
- Postnatal & Postpartum Care: Recovery trajectories, maternal morbidity, and early postpartum interventions.
- Breastfeeding & Lactation Science: Biochemical properties of human milk, secretory mechanisms, immunological components, and infant nutrition dynamics.
- Perinatal & Women’s Mental Health: Emotional regulation, postpartum depression and anxiety, clinical interventions, and neuroendocrine impacts.
- Women in Society: Sociological studies, healthcare access, systemic policy impacts, and cultural determinants of maternal-child health.
- Neonatal & Infant Development: Early childhood milestones, neonatal outcomes, developmental tracking, and pediatric transitions directly stemming from prenatal and birth conditions.
- Reproductive Health & Endocrinology: Fertility, preconception health, hormonal regulation, and reproductive endocrinology underpinning maternal wellness.
- Perinatal Loss, Grief, & Bereavement: Clinical research, psychological support frameworks, and personal accounts addressing miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, and complex grief recovery.
- Midwifery, Doula Care, & Alternative Birth Models: Research and professional insights focused on out-of-hospital births, midwifery-led care models, continuous doula support, and physiological birth practices.
- Pharmacology & Therapeutics in Pregnancy/Lactation: Data and clinical observations regarding medication safety, pharmacokinetics, and therapeutic interventions during gestation and breastfeeding.
Submission Guidelines for Researchers and Clinicians
To maintain the rigorous academic tone expected by our professional audience, all submissions must adhere to standard scholarly conventions:
- Authorship and Originality: Manuscripts must represent original research, systematic reviews, clinical case studies, or theoretical frameworks. Submissions must not be concurrently published in a peer-reviewed journal in their final formatted version (though publication following pre-print deposition is fully encouraged).
- Methodological Transparency: Quantitative and qualitative studies must explicitly detail their data collection methodologies, statistical parameters, and ethical approvals (e.g., Institutional Review Board or ethics committee compliance).
- Data Integrity and Citations: All claims, datasets, and prior literature must be thoroughly and accurately cited.
- Screening and Moderation: Submissions undergo a rigorous internal editorial screening process for scope adherence, academic formatting, plagiarism screening, and ethical compliance prior to public posting. Screening is administrative and preliminary; it does not constitute formal peer review.
Pre-Print Policy and Licensing
- Non-Peer-Reviewed Status: Documents hosted on [HSRxiv] are preliminary reports that have not undergone formal peer review. They should not be relied on to guide clinical practice or health-related behavior without independent verification, nor should they be reported in the public media as established scientific consensus.
- Digital Permanence & DOIs: Once a pre-print is posted, it receives a permanent identifier and enters the public scholarly record. To ensure academic integrity, pre-prints are immutable and cannot be deleted or replaced by a new manuscript version without an updated version number appended to the public record.
- Licensing: Authors retain copyright of their work while granting [HSRxiv] a non-exclusive license to distribute the pre-print under standard open-access Creative Commons frameworks.
We invite you to contribute your latest findings to the global repository and help shape the future of maternal and women’s health research.
